I built this word count, brick by brick
Happy August! The summer's flying by, and I've been hyperfocused on writing for pretty much all of it.
Current Focus
I'm developing characters for my latest project. I'm still in the very early stages so I can't say too much about it. The story involves witches, one "untouchable" witch hunter, and my favorite Arthur C. Clarke quote: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
What I'm learning
I'm two-thirds of the way finished with Tiny Experiments. I couldn't be more deadass when I say it's already changed my life. After half a decade away from the craft, I've been consistently writing daily for over a month now, and I owe a ton of that progress to Tiny Experiments. If you're unlearning some perfectionistic tendencies or bad habits around goal setting, I am begging you to pick this one up.
Also, I'm finally biting the bullet. Yes, rereading Scott Lynch's Gentlemen Bastards series and replaying Persona 5 Royal (again) is fun, but why stop there when I can learn how to write a heist story myself?!
