AuDHD writers, intentional consumption is your friend
AKA, how a 25-year-old film broke my writer's block

So, after years of loving this subgenre to death, I'm writing my first heist story. Frankly, I have no idea what I'm doing. So I did what I usually do when I'm figuring things out on the fly: I dug up some tutorials on YouTube.
This rewarded me with a list of story beats to plan ahead for. Great! But that checklist inspired some pretty stilted writing that ultimately annoyed me to read. Not great.
I tried freewriting next. As an auDHD hot mess whose brain locks up at the presence of too much uncertainty, I spent about three days rewriting the same handful of paragraphs over and over.
