As of 8 March 2021, also known as Women's History Month, only 20% of Wikipedia's 1.7 million biographies are about women. Launched in 2021, Project Rewrite is an ongoing Wikimedia Foundation initiative to generate more interest in writing biographies about notable women around the world.
Now in its third year, the initiative has since expanded its reach, developing a handy checklist you can use as a first step to ending the gender gap on Wikipedia. ❤️
