The Future
Naomi Alderman’s The Future explores power, technology, and the consequences of human ambition in a world on the brink of transformation.
The novel intricately weaves together the lives of disparate characters from all walks of life as they grapple with profound ethical dilemmas and the allure of control in a rapidly changing society. As a huge fan of Alderman's debut novel The Power, I was hesitant to pick this one up, but so far it's been a thought-provoking story that manages to speculate on the impact of their choices on humanity’s collective destiny. (And it manages to write about tech and cell phones without being cringe.)
